Body shallow; mouth and jaws moderate with
poorly developed tubercles; barbels two pairs,
rostral and shorter maxillary; dorsal fi n origin
much anterior to that of anal fi n. Body silvery
with 10-14 bluish vertical bars, fi ns pinkish, dor-
sal and caudal fi ns edged with grey.
