spring onion, zebu Bourguignon, and romazava (traditional Malagasy beef-and-vegetable
stew). The three-course menu of the day is a steal at Ar9900.

to unseat this stylish bar-restaurant from its position at the pinnacle of Tana's fashionable
eatingscene.Themenumakesimaginative useoflocalingredients,creatingasophisticated
fusion cuisine that suits the chic ethnic decor perfectly. The sleek dining room is almost
always packed with fashionable folk, so booking is advisable.

outside, but inside the atmosphere is jovial, with tables of budget-conscious travellers and
locals in the know gingerly tucking into Sucett's Malagasy and Creole (a cuisine that is a
blend of African, Asian and European influences) dishes. The selection of dips (peanut, au-

good, so skip starters!

classy establishment serves French gastronomy infused with vanilla (foie gras, crayfish,

across the region, and with the candle-lit atmosphere it all feels delightfully old-world and
nostalgic. It's on Place Antanimena, about 400m north of Marché Pochart.
