example, issue instructions and certificates.
Rather than having to write the sort of letter suggested if certification is due, you
should insist on the contract documents being prepared before taking possession
of the site. There is seldom any good reason why they should not be ready for
execution immediately after your tender is accepted. Remember, however, that the
architect's failure to prepare contract documents is not a sufficient reason for you
to refuse to take possession, provided a proper binding contract incorporating all
the terms of the formal documents has been entered into.
