To architect, regarding copyright if payment withheld
This letter is only suitable for use with SBC, ICD, MWD or DB.
Dear
We note that you persist in withholding payment of [ describe the situation ].

Copyright in the design of the contractor's designed portion vests in this
company.
[ Otherwise add: ]
Clause 2.41 [ substitute '23.3' when using ICD or '2.38' when using DB ] expressly
provides that copyright in all designs, drawings and other documents which
we provide vests in this company.
[ Then add: ]
You will only acquire a licence to reproduce such designs in the form of a
building when you have paid the amounts you owe. Until then and for the
avoidance of doubt take this as notice that you are currently infringing our
copyright and we do not grant you a licence. If you do not pay us by close of
business on [ insert date ] the money owing, we shall seek to recover substantial
damages from you in respect of the infringement.
