24. Sensory Center Of Wine, San Asensio
In the autonomous community / province of La Rioja much revolves around wine. Located
in the north, Rioja wines are sold all over Spain and other countries. It's no wonder then,
that they have a museum of wine.
Opened in the village of San Asensio in 2008, this museum is named “Sensory Wine Center:
Sight.” It is the first of several planned museums that will aim explain everything related
to wine through the five senses. This one, being about “sight” or the look of wine, has an
exhibit that takes visitors through the shades of wine (red, white, pink, red). The exhibit also
shows how the Rioja region's landscape changes drastically during the different seasons.
The museum is located in an old wine cellar. One of the upper floor has a wine tasting room,
which regularly holds presentations and tasting courses.
