Sevillanas Festival, Pilar de la Horadada
While Sevillanas are a style of dance typical of Andalusia, you can also experience this art
form at the festival of Pilar de la Horadada (Valencia region). Like the Seville Fair in April,
the festival opens with the lighting of thousands of bulbs. The festival lasts for three days,
and flamenco performances are the main events. Visitors can enjoy concerts, flamenco bal-
lets, Sevillanas shows and flamenco masses. Several prestigious performers and academies
attend the festival.
In addition to the music and dancing, there are children activities, horse shows, tastings of
typical local foods like tapas and churros, and parades of costumed dancers. There are also
Sevillanascontestsforbothchildrenandadults,inwhichallparticipantsarerequiredtowear
