69. Caixaforum Lleida, Lérida
Caixafórum Lleida is housed in an old movie theater, built in 1915 in
moderniststylebythearchitect FrancescodePalau . Afterrestoration,
the building hold s a 226-seat auditorium, an exhibition hall, and two
projection theaters with 50 seats each. In a recognition of the build-
ing's history, many of the activities held here have to do with cinema.
The regular screenings have become a shared cultural experience for
many city residents.
As with other Caixaforum centers ( English translation ) , Caixaforum
Lleida offers much more: social, cultural and educational activities; a
space for art, music, literature, thinking, science; as well as courses,
exhibitions and programs.
Exhibitions have included original works by artists such as Gauguin , Monet and Miró .
