Picasso Museum, Barcelona
Picasso spent several years of his youth in Barcelona, and, by his own request, a museum
was inaugurated in his honor in 1963. Currently it exhibits one the most important collection
of the artist, with 4,249 works, dated from 1917 onwards.
Visitors will see several stages in the artist's formation, with special emphasis in his Blue
Period . The collection includes such important works as Las Meninas and Harlequin. Sever-
al areas of the museum are devoted solely to prints, a lesser known part of Picasso's work.
Occupying five gothic palaces in the heart of Barcelona, you can spend several hours here.
