this end we are planning experiments to determine the kinetics of expression of candidate
genes over a broader time period in select M. sieversii lines. Finally, we plan to examine
promoter elements for single nucleotide polymorphisms or other alterations that might
influence expression and to identify changes in methylation that might contribute to differ‐
ences in expression between the more drought resistant lines and those that are more sensitive.
